Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our grade 4 web site. Here you will find all information related to our English class. I will post your homework and assignments. Parents can check to make sure you are staying on track with your work. Also when you are absent you will be able to see what you missed and be able to come to class ready to work. All students must check this site regularly as there are now no excuses for incomplete homework.

54. Jan. 27: FW chapters 1-7 review due Monday. Chapters 1-7 test on Tuesday.

53. Jan. 26: Read FW chapters 5, 6, 7. Complete chapters 5-6 and 7-8 work pages for tomorrow.

52. Jan. 17: Read ch 4 FW. Orals start Thursday!

51. Jan. 16: Fried Worms: Read ch 2+3. Complete ch 2+3 work for tomorrow.

50. Jan. 12: Oral handout went home today. They begin Jan. 19. Complete chapter 1 work for FW (2 pages) for tomorrow.

49. Jan. 10: Read chapter 1 in How to Eat Fried Worms (FW).

48. Jan. 9: Spelling lesson 20 due on Friday.

47. Dec. 21: You were all great today in the Christmas concert. Lots of talent in our class!! There will be no homework over the break (including reading log). Merry Christmas and Happy New year!

46. Dec. 20: Grammar test went home today. Get it signed.

45. Dec. 13: Grammar lessons 17, 18 and review due on Thursday. Unit 2 test will be on Monday, December 19.

44. Dec. 12: Read Reindeer story. Correct and sign spelling.

43. Dec. 6: Friday will be the last day in class to work on the newspaper. Some kids still have not brought in their photos.

42. Dec. 5: Spelling lesson 19 due on Friday.

41. Dec. 1: In class the students are writing a newspaper. They need 2 photos. 10 1/2 cm x 13 cm of themself and 5 1/2 cm x 5 1/2 cm of their hero (they can be in it too.)

40. Nov 28: Complete newspaper article work sheet for Thursday.

39. Nov. 25: I will go over grammar lessons 14-16 on Monday. It was given on Thursday and you had 50 min. to work on it.

38. Nov. 21: Complete spelling lesson 18 for Friday, Nov. 25. Review all words from lessons 13-17.

37. Nov. 15: Complete character map for Thursday. Follow the steps provided on page 1.

36. Nov. 11: Grammar lessons 10, 11, 12 and 13 due on Monday. Complete all sections.

35. Nov 8: TFGN test on Thursday (chapters 5-10). Review the vocabulary words I gave you last week (TFGN). From column 2 of the vocabulary sheet (TFGN) take each word and write a good sentence with it on a piece of loose leaf paper. This is due on Thursday. Spelling lesson 17 due Friday.

34. Nov. 7: 6 kids did not do their homework so we were not able to have a class today!

33. Nov. 4: Complete all questions for ch 9 + 10 and do writing sheet. Read ch 10 TFGN.

32. Nov. 3: Write a good sentence on loose leaf paper with the words from column 1 on the TFGN sheet that I gave you . It's due on Monday.

31. Nov 1: Read TFGN ch 9. Complete questions pertaining to ch 9 only. Orals begin Thursday.

30. Oct. 31: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! NO HOMEWORK

29. Oct. 28: Finish ch 7+8 trifold section.

28. Oct. 27: Read chapter 8 TFGN. Complete ch. 7+8 questions for tomorrow. Grammar test went home today.

27. Oct. 24: Complete Mirror, Mirror sheet for tomorrow.

26. Oct. 21: Unit 1 grammar test on Monday.

25. Oct 20: Grammar test Monday, book report/oral Nov. 3 (see handout), ch 7 questions TFGN for tomorrow.

24. Oct. 18: Grammar review due Thursday. Unit 1 test on Monday. Complete all ch 5+6.

23. Oct. 17: Spelling lesson 16 due Friday. Writing assignment due Friday, see handout. Scholastic deadline Thursday.

22. Oct. 14: Read ch 6 TFGN. Complete respond section for ch 5+6 in trifold. I'd like to wish Alicia good luck on her move to Paris. I will miss you dearly in our class. Your new teacher will be lucky to have you in her /his class!!! Break a leg, Alicia and write me whenever you like!!

21. Oct. 13: Thank you so much for all your hard work on the commercial project!! We had a great time today in class. Awesome work grade 4!! At the top of my home page I created a new page so you can view the commercials. 1 is not there yet as it has to be formatted.

20. Oct. 11: We watched a youtube video about Terry Fox after the race. Today I collected 4 commercials. They loaded on my computer without any problems. Whoever did not give to me please do so tomorrow so that we get on our way Thursday without any surprise problems.

19. Oct. 7: It has come to my attention today that the Terry Fox Run will be held on Tuesday during English class. Therefore, the project presentations will begin on Thursday.

18. Oct. 6: Commercials are due on Tuesday.

17. Oct. 4. Complete rough copy of your dialogue story. Return it to me on Thursday. Spelling is due Thursday.

16. Oct. 3: Spelling lesson 15 due Thursday. You should be well into your project. See me if there are any issues. In class we are working on a writing activity using dialogue and paragraphs.

15. Sept. 29: Complete the before questions for Up, Up, and Away. ONLY THE QUESTIONS! TFNG test tomorrow.

14. Sept. 27: Read TFGN ch. 5. Complete the visualize (focus) section in your trifold.

13. Sept. 26: Grammar lessons 6-9 due Thursday. Complete all of chapter 3-4 TFGN work. Spelling lesson 14 test sign and correct. Chapters 3-4 TFGN test on Friday.

12. Sept. 23: Commercial Project handout went home today. Groups were made. Group 1: Maya, Mikka, Roy, Armen, Alicia. Group 2: Meroujan, Alec Kun, Keisha, Manya, Inessa. Group 3: Elvis, Nareg, Aren, Amalia, Alison. Group 4 : Melody, Alissa, Zila, Daniel, Alec Kas. Group 5: Vana, Arevig, Melanie, Mikayel, Mina. This is an out of school project. Make arrangement to meet with your group.

11. Sept. 22: Some students did not read below correctly. I would never assign all of ch 3-4 duotang work for 1 day. 3 students have incomplete homework sheets to sign and return. Do the first 3 pages of ch 3-4 in TFGN duotang. Spelling is due tomorrow.

10. Sept. 20: Read ch 4 and do ch 3-4 work in your trifold.

9. Sept. 19: SEVERAL STUDENTS DID NOT DO THE BOOKMARK. Spelling lesson 14 due Friday. Keep up with your reading logs.

8. Test postponed to Monday. Complete bookmark for Monday.

7. Sept. 13: Read ch 3 TFGN. Ch 1-2 test on Thurs. Finish all ch 1-2 work and we will correct before the test.

6. Sept. 12: Complete all pages for chapters 1 and 2 in TFGN for Thursday. There will be a vocabulary and comprehension test on Thursday for chapters 1 and 2. Grammar is due tomorrow.

5. Sept.9: Grammar lessons 1-5 for Tuesday. TFGN work due on Monday.

4. Sept. 8: Read the rest of chapter 2 in TFGN. Complete all questions. Do writing page on a pet and complete 1st vocabulary page for Monday.

3. Sept. 6: Read pages 1-13 in TFGN. Complete questions 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 for next class. Scholastic was sent home today.
